May 14, 2001 — HUDSON, NH — Bandwidth Semiconductor LLC plans to move to a new home in New Hampshire as soon as it finishes retrofitting the facility with cleanrooms.
The company plans to open the plant in September, according to a report in the Nashua Telegraph. The company spent $4.5 million on the Sagamore Park Road facility.
The company currently leases space in Bedford, Mass. but officials say the company has already outgrown the site.
Bandwidth, which makes advanced compound semiconductor wafers for the fiber optic and wireless industries, was formed in December 1999 after parent company Stratos Lightwave Inc. bought Spire Corp.’s optoelectronics division. The company currently has 45 employees
Officials said the new facility was selected partly because other high tech companies have also located there.
