May 2, 2001 — MENLO PARK, CA — Ultra Clean Technology, a supplier of gas and liquid delivery solutions for the semiconductor process equipment industry, recently held the grand opening of its manufacturing facility in the Austin area.
The new facility is just over 11,000 square feet in total size, with a 3,500 square foot cleanroom and 4,000 square feet of warehouse space. Located in the TechRidge complex just east of I-35, the new facility officially opened in October 2000. Approximately 40 employees are on board in Austin.
“Our new plant in Austin has exceeded all expectations,” commented Clarence Granger, president and chief operating officer. “We have a great team and a world-class facility. I look forward to working in partnership with our customers here in the Austin area.”
Among the over 170 people at the March 9 gala were dignitaries from UCT’s customers, suppliers, and the local business community, as well as UCT employees from Austin and California. Following a warm welcome by Clarence Granger and Yoshifusa “Nick” Nikaido, UCT Chairman of the Board and chief executive officer, guests were treated to a Texas-style buffet and musical entertainment. UCT employees served as hosts for the afternoon, leading guests through the various areas of the new facility and explaining UCT’s gas panel manufacturing processes.
