June 20, 2001 — ELGIN, IL — Owners of the Grand Victoria Casino are hoping their new cleanroom-inspired air filtration will be a lock for their patrons.
St. Charles-based Pure Air Werks installed the five-stage air filtration system in the Illinois casino, which averages more than 10,000 gamers on a daily basis. The casino, which is located on the Fox River, has been named “Best Riverboat Casino” in the U.S. three years in a row.
The filtration system was installed specifically to combat contaminants in cigar and cigarette smoke, according to Pete Dominguez, general manager of the casino.
“Smoking cigarettes and cigars is a common activity among many of our players. With this air filtration upgrade, all our players can now enjoy a more comfortable and pleasant gaming experience on the casino floor,” Dominguez said.
Pure Air Werks will also conduct carbon dioxide tests to keep nicotine levels down.
