Praxair’s New Korean Plant Operational

June 15, 2001 — DANBURY, CT ?- A new ultra-high purity nitrogen plant and back-up liquid nitrogen storage tank constructed by Praxair Inc., is up and running in Giheung, Korea. The facility also features a Class 100 cleanroom.

The plant, which became operational in April, is said to increase the Giheung facility’s capacity by 40 percent.

Praxair officials also say the expansion makes the facility one of the largest UHP pipeline complexes in the world and will allow the company to provide more reliable and cost-effective means of distribution.

Praxair, one of the largest industrial gases companies in North and South America, has been supplying high purity gaseous nitrogen to Samsung Electronics through a stainless steel pipeline since 1993.

The aerospace, food and beverage, healthcare, semiconductor materials, stee, chemicals and refining, metal fabrication, water treatment, and glass industries are among those served by Praxair.
