July 11, 2001 — PRI Automation is planning to implement Demand Flow Technology in its systems integration cleanroom, a move officials hope will lead to lower costs and shorter manufacturing times.
Demand Flow Technology requires less material onsite and allows better control over the daily flow rate of the line. The methodology was developed by JCIT Institute of Technology.
“The decision to implement DFT into PRI’s newly expanded SICR was an easy one, as we have personally seen DFT at work for the past five years in the company’s component manufacturing area,” said Robert de Neve, vice president and general manager of PRI’s OEM System Division. “With DFT, we will be able to get customers orders to them faster than ever before.”
Billerica-based PRI Automation plans to implement DFT in the SICR during Q1 2002 and will include workcell definition, Operational Method Sheets, Sequence of Events, Product Syncs’ and integrated tooling.
