July 11, 2001 — OAKLAND, CA — Rumsey Engineers, designers of energy-efficient HVAC systems, has received the Regional Technology Award from the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers, Inc.
The company was recognized in the Public Assembly Facilities category for its work on the Oakland Museum of California.
“To be recognized by your peers, is an exceptional honor. We are aware of the good work that HVAC design engineers are doing in this area of the country, and to be singled out for recognition is especially gratifying,” according to Peter Rumsey, P.E. and principal of Rumsey Engineers. “We look forward to representing the Golden Gate Chapter at the National Awards Competition later this year.”
The ASHRAE Regional Technology Awards program is designed to recognize the Society?s members who design and/or conceive innovative technological concepts that are proven through actual operating data. Through these awards, ASHRAE communicates these innovative HVAC systems designs to other members, and other professionals worldwide. Regional award winners are eligible to move on to the national awards competition, held in the fall of 2001.
This award is the latest recognition received by Rumsey Engineers, whose installations have moved the company into the industry spotlight, thanks in part to soaring energy prices.
