Toppoly Optoelectronics Planning New Plant, Cleanrooms

July 16, 2001 TAIWAIN — Toppoly Optoelectronics Inc., is building a new manufacturing plant that will include 452,000 square feet of ISO Class 4-ISO Class 7 (Class10-10,000) cleanroom space.

The plant will be located at the Hsinchu Science-Based Industrial Park in Taiwan. The cleanroom facilities will be engineered by German-based M+W Zander. Construction of the cleanrooms is expected to begin in Spetember and should be completed by the end of the year, according to officials from M+W Zander.

“With this new major order, we are able to profit from the know-how transfer to other industries,” said Lothar Spath, CEO of M+W Zander’s parent company Jenoptik.

Toppoly Optoelectronics will the use the plant to produce low-temperature poly-silicon TFT-LCD panels.
