Genus’ CFO resigns to leave Silicon Valley

August 30, 2001 – Sunnyvale, CA – Genus Inc.’s CFO, Kenneth Schwanda, is resigning after nine years with Genus and is relocating out of the Bay Area. Bill Elder, CEO of Genus, will act in an interim capacity until a permanent replacement is found. Schwanda will be retained as a consultant through the transition period.

“We appreciate Ken’s contribution to Genus over the years, especially the past three years as CFO,” commented Bill Elder. “Ken and his family have made the decision to relocate to the East Coast and we wish them all the best in the future.”

Schwanda, 43, joined Genus in 1992 and has held several financial management positions. In 1998, Schwanda became CFO after the company sold its ion implant division and restructured the management team.
