Applied Materials donates $250,000 and creates $750,000 matching fund for relief efforts

September 13, 2001 – Santa Clara, CA – Applied Materials Inc. said that it plans to donate $250,000 to the ongoing relief efforts following Tuesday’s tragic events in the United States, and match company employee donations up to an additional $750,000.

This follows the company’s immediate efforts to mobilize a program throughout North America to assist employees interested in donating blood for medical treatment.

“All citizens of the world were affected by these tragic events and we are committed to assisting those who are suffering. Our hopes and thoughts are with the victims and families affected by these terrible tragedies,” said James Morgan, Chairman and CEO of Applied Materials.
