September 28, 2001 — SEATTLE, WA — Optical component supplier nLight Photonics has opened a 57,000 square foot laser diode manufacturing facility that includes 22,000 square feet of ISO Class 6 (Class 1,000) cleanroom space.
The facility, located in Vancouver, Washington, will start production in October. Officials say the plant will give them industry-leading capabilities.
“Our product and process technologies allow us to significantly improve the performance while reducing the cost of active optical components,” said Scott Keeney, president of nLight. “This new facility will give us increased control of product reliability and shortened design cycle times.”
Keeney also said he expects the facility puts the company in a strong position for the expected industry turnaround.
Construction on the plant was completed in August.
