November 7, 2001 — BURLINGAME, CA — Metron has been chosen as the exclusive distributor for microelectronics products from Carl Zeiss Microelectronic Systems GmbH, a subsidiary of Carl Zeiss Semiconductor Manufacturing Technologies AG, in Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore. This decision follows the successful transition of sales and service support of Carl Zeiss’ microelectronics division products to Metron Technology in the U.S. and in most of Europe.

Carl Zeiss began its partnership with Metron in July 1999 in the U.S. and subsequently transferred the line in Europe in April 2000.

Under the terms of the agreement, Metron commenced sales and service support for Carl Zeiss from its operations in Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore effective November 5, 2001.
