Silicon Integrated Systems licenses Rambus RDRAM technology

November 12, 2001 – Taipei, Taiwan and Los Altos, CA – Silicon Integrated Systems Corp. (SiS) and Rambus have announced an expansion of the original RDRAM licensing agreement between the companies.

SiS expanded their license with Rambus to include the current generation of RDRAM technology, known as Direct RDRAM(TM), which allows SiS to integrate RDRAM intellectual property into future products for PCs, networking and communications applications.

“This agreement with SiS underlines the importance of the Taiwan market as providers of RDRAM memory systems,” stated Frank Fox, Vice President and General Manager of Rambus Inc. “Best of class desktop PCs and workstations use RDRAM memory to achieve the highest levels of performance. As these systems penetrate into the mainstream market, SiS will be well positioned to offer pure performance solutions based on RDRAM memory technology.”
