December 4, 2001 — CHASKA, MN — Entegris Inc. has opened its Center for Excellence for fluid handling of component assembly, quality control and testing in Japan. The center features a 450 feet ISO Class 6 (Class 1,000) cleanroom.
The facility, Entegris Techno K.K., will serve as the company’s fluid handling manufacturing resource for the semiconductor market in Japan. IT is the result of Entegris’ acquisition of the Nisso fluid handling product lines in March 2001.
“By creating specialized manufacturing centers around the world we expect to see substantial benefits in operational efficiency, reduced manufacturing costs and speed-to-market. But most importantly, this initiative will bring us closer to our Japanese customers,” said Frank Sidell, Entegris Fluid Handling Group president.
The facility, which manufactures pumps, valves, fittings and PFA tubing, is 5,270 square feet and includes a 516 square foot Class 10,000 tubing extrusion facility. It is located in Hitachi Naka, north of Tokyo.
