The Silicon Valley Technology and Homeland Security Summit and Expo, a conference to showcase the technologies, products, and companies battling terrorism at home and abroad, will be held in San Jose, CA, on Dec. 13.
The conference is being presented by the Silicon Valley Workforce Investment Network (WIN) and the San Jose Mercury News. Speakers will address the acceleration of R&D in IT, biotech, biometrics, surveillance, wireless communications, computer and network security, GPS, and many other fields.
Select Silicon Valley companies are being asked to exhibit technologies that are used to ensure national, corporate, and personal security.
“Silicon Valley is poised on the brink of a new economic expansion,” said Blake Konczal, director of WIN. “Our homeland security and military needs are driving the demand for new products ranging from biohazard detection devices to ID cards and next generation network security. WIN is ready to provide the re-training and skills enhancement for workers transitioning from older technologies to the growing defense technology industry.”
