BOC Edwards Acquires Hydromatix
January 24, 2002 — WILMINGTON, MA – In an effort to increase its market share of application-specific liquid abatement solutions, BOC Edwards has acquired Hydromatix, Inc. (Santa Fe Springs, CA). Hydromatix manufactures high-efficiency, process-critical liquid purification systems. Once the acquisition is complete, BOC plans to merge Hydromatix with its Chemical Management Division and form a liquid abatement group.
“We intend to very rapidly deploy Hydromatix product lines through our unique global sales and support organization, reinforce our existing OEM programs, and develop integrated abatement solutions with our Exhaust Gas Management group,” notes Neels Kriek, president of BOC’s Chemical Management Division.
Hydromatix aids companies in the surface finishing industry to recycle rinse waters with a minimum amount of waste, which allows them to attain zero-discharge status. A majority of Hydromatix customers are involved in plating, printed circuit boards and galvanizing, as well as high-tech fields such as disc and semiconductor packaging, according to a company report.
