Vishay acquires Sensortronics’ businesses

Jan. 31, 2002 – Malvern, PA – Vishay Intertechnology Inc. has acquired the transducer and strain gage businesses of Sensortronics Inc., a manufacturer of load cells and torque transducers, with manufacturing facilities in Covina, CA, Costa Rica, and India.

The acquisition includes the wholly owned subsidiary of Sensortronics, JP Technologies, a manufacturer of strain gages, located in San Bernardino, CA. In the calendar year ended Dec. 31, 2001, the acquired businesses had sales of approximately $16 million.

Felix Zandman, chairman and CEO of Vishay stated, “This acquisition will vertically broaden the Vishay Measurements Group’s product portfolio and strengthen the existing strain gage business.”
