Ion Acquires Cornerstone Coatings

March 25, 2002 — Berkeley, CA –Electrostatic discharge (ESD) supplier and service provider, Ion Systems, Inc. has purchased Texas–based Cornerstone Coatings.

Founded in 1993, Cornerstone is a supplier of conductive and static-dissipative floor systems that aid in the reduction of ESD in manufacturing facilities and cleanrooms.

"With the acquisition of Cornerstone and its ESD flooring products, we are able to work with our customers from early in the construction process to retro-fitting, ensuring their facilities are ESD-safe from floor to ceiling," notes Ion’s CEO Scott Gehlke.

Once the acquisition is complete, Cornerstone will become a subsidiary of Ion. Cornerstone’s President, Barry McGill, will now report Gehlke. "Our customers now have access to great flooring products, a full range of electrostatic management solutions, and the best minds in electrostatics," notes McGill.
