AMAT does not obtain preliminary injunction against LTD Ceramics

April 4, 2002 – Santa Clara, CA – LTD Ceramics Inc., a manufacturer of technical ceramic materials and components, said that Applied Materials has failed in its attempt to obtain a preliminary injunction against the company.

The motion for injunction, filed in January 2002 and heard by the US District Court on March 19, sought to prevent LTD Ceramics from manufacturing or selling a wide array of component parts that are used in semiconductor fabrication equipment.

The Court’s denial of Applied Materials’ motion will allow LTD Ceramics to continue to conduct its business.
