June 11, 2002 — Axon Instruments Inc. and Aviva Biosciences Corp. are developing an electrode device for a patch-based drug-screening system, according to Asia Pulse.
Aviva’s Patch-on-a-Chip electrode devices provide a microfabricated surface to which cells attach during testing. The electrode will become part of Axon’s PatchXpress system, which will be used to test the effects of thousands of potential drugs for heart disease, chronic pain, diabetes and high-blood pressure.
The agreement gives Axon exclusive marketing rights to Aviva’s technology, the report said.
