Canada, Taiwan pump up nano collaboration

June 25, 2002 — Taiwan’s National Science Council and Canada’s National Research Council said Monday they will boost collaboration in nanotechnology, biotechnology and other areas, according to Asia Pulse.

Officials with both groups, which have worked together for five years and recently signed a deal to extend the pact for another five, intend to enlarge the scale and increase the cost of each research program. They have been working on 27 projects, the report said.

Representatives of each group gathered Monday in Taipei, Taiwan, for a two-day event celebrating the five-year anniversary of the partnership.
