June 17, 2002 — The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s (DARPA) Microsystems Technology Office awarded a contract to Syncron Technologies to develop design tools for integrated electronic circuits, according to a news release.
The purpose of the contract, valued at up to $850,000, is to improve design and development efficiency of high-performance mixed signal systems for military applications. The project includes global modeling and simulation of circuits, as well as designing three-dimensional devices with acceptable performance — with the goal of reducing time and cost of the design cycle by a factor of 10 to 100, the release said.
