Fairchild Semiconductor opening Shanghai office and applications lab

South Portland, ME – Fairchild Semiconductor International, a supplier of power products for multiple end markets, has opened an expanded sales office and applications laboratory in Shanghai, China.

The new facility will house staff comprised of technical design engineers and sales personnel to support Fairchild’s growing presence in China.

“When we founded Fairchild Semiconductor five years ago, we had minimal presence in the China market. Last year, Fairchild moved into position as the fourteenth largest semiconductor vendor in China with sales exceeding $235 million, which is a significant accomplishment for a young company,” said Eric Kuo, senior VP of Asia Pacific sales and marketing. “We look forward to serving our customers through these expanded facilities which now have the capability to help solve their most sophisticated design challenges.”

The new applications lab increases the company’s technical design capabilities, providing customers with individualized engineering support for their latest applications and reference designs.

The lab is equipped to support high growth applications critical to the China market including DVD players, TFT LCD monitors, color TVs, power supplies, and chargers/adapters.
