Report looks at nanotech energy markets

June 20, 2002 — CMP Cientifica, a Madrid, Spain-based provider of nanotechnology business information, today announced the publication of a report, “Nanocatalysis and the Energy Markets.”

The report will be available July 1 at a cost of $1,495, according to a company news release. It will include technology descriptions, industry profiles and an analysis of the potential impact of nanocatalysis on the energy industry.

Catalysts speed up chemical reactions and can be used to refine fuels. Scientists are investigating how to use nanoscale structures to increase a catalyst’s surface area and maximize its effect.
