July 2, 2002 – Edison, NJ – Advantest America Measuring Solutions Inc. (AAM) has officially opened its doors as the newly formed headquarters for sales and marketing of Advantest’s electronic measuring instruments in the US, Canada, and Mexico.

Advantest America Measuring Solutions is a wholly owned subsidiary of Advantest America Corp., which is the US holding company for parent Advantest Corp.

The establishment of this new subsidiary will enable AAM to form and maintain closer ties with its customers in North America and to work more intimately with them at the beginning of the crucial product development stage.

The establishment of AAM follows the end in June 2002 of Advantest’s nine-year distribution arrangement with Tektronix.

Additionally, AAM introduced to the North America market Advantest’s Q7607 Chirp Test Set, which it says speeds testing of optical pulses in high-speed, broadband networks.
