July 30, 2002 — Arryx Inc. said it sold its first product to the University of Maryland.
The BioRyx 200 works with a microscope to manipulate hundreds of micro and nanoscale objects independently and simultaneously. University officials said they plan to apply the system in several areas, including biology, physics and geology.
Arryx said potential uses for the BioRyx include isolating valuable cells or molecules, detecting and measuring the presence of materials and making sensors to detect biological and chemical hazards.
