BioDiscovery launches enhanced microarray software

July 29, 2002 — BioDiscovery Inc. said it has revamped its microarray data management software.

GeneDirector version 2.0 manages the vast amount of data from a microarray experiment to understand genes and their functions. The new version offers enhanced security and fixes bugs from the earlier version, the company said.

The platform is compatible with many microarray suppliers, including Affymetrix Inc., and can integrate data from the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer product line.

BioDiscovery also said it has signed a distribution agreement with Sigma-Genosys, in which the firm will sell a version of BioDiscovery’s ImaGene software for image analysis of microarrays.
