Blizzard Genomics Inc. appoints CEO

July 16, 2002 — Blizzard Genomics Inc., a St. Paul, Minn.-based genomics and proteomics company, announced the appointment of James Adam as chief executive officer. Adam will succeed founder Martin Blumenfeld, who will remain chief scientific officer and chairman of the company’s board of directors.

Adam, who has been president of Blizzard Genomics since March 2001, will also serve on the company’s board. Prior to joining Blizzard, he founded Adam Consulting Inc. and was president of ican Inc. a provider of infectious disease information to medical professionals.

Blizzard expects its I-Scan Imager, a low-cost DNA chip reader, to be available before year’s end, and its T-Chip microarray and thermal hybridization station to be available in the second half of 2003.
