Hitachi buys Agilent microarrays

July 25, 2002 — Agilent Technologies Inc. will supply custom and catalog microarrays, a microarray reader and consumables to Hitachi Ltd. Life Science Group of Japan, according to a news release.

Hitachi will use the tools in a new contract research center that will serve Japanese pharmaceutical companies doing gene expression research into human diseases. Previously, Hitachi had been using microarrays developed in-house.
