InFocus reports $2 million Q2 earnings

July 17, 2002 — InFocus Corp. reported second quarter earnings of $2 million, or 5 cents per share, excluding $1.3 million in restructuring charges.

The company reported earnings of 24 cents per share for the same quarter last year, before expenses related to its merger with Proxima Corp. Second quarter revenues were $165 million, down from revenues of $185.3 million for the second quarter of 2001, excluding merger-related expenses.

InFocus, of Wilsonville, Ore., provides projectors for business presentations and home entertainment, as well as rear-projection engines for television and digital signage products. Many of its devices use the MEMS-based digital light processing technology from Texas Instruments.

In trading late Wednesday afternoon, shares of InFocus rose to $12.77, up 24 percent from Tuesday’s close of $10.29.
