Nanotechnologies Inc. appoints Topfer director

July 25, 2002 — Nanotechnologies Inc., an Austin, Texas, developer of custom nanomaterials, appointed former Dell Vice Chairman Mort Topfer to its board of directors.

Topfer is managing director of Castletop Capital, an early-stage venture firm he founded, and which participated in Nanotechnologies’ recent $6.3 million second funding round. He is also vice chairman of the board of Measurement Specialties and has been active in that company’s ongoing restructuring.

The company also appointed Techxas Ventures founder Bruce Ezell, Crossroads Systems Chairman and CEO Brian Smith and its own President and CEO Gary Pankonien, to its board.
