July 24, 2002 — NimbleGen Systems Inc., a genomics company headquartered in Madison, Wis., yesterday announced the launch of its customized DNA microarray services.
The company has been manufacturing for beta customers since March and received its first revenues in April. Mike Treble, NimbleGen president and chief executive, said the company’s clients run the gamut from “large pharma to academicians in university and U.S. government.”
NimbleGen has raised $20 million to date and has 51 employees. Its Maskless Array Synthesis (MAS) process uses digital micromirrors to create custom-designed DNA arrays.
