July 19, 2002 — NP Photonics. Inc., a Tucson, Ariz.-based provider of amplifiers for fiber optic networks, has acquired the intellectual property, MEMS technology and tunable filter products of Solus Micro Technologies and will operate it as a wholly owned subsidiary named Parvenu Inc, according to Daryl Eigen, NP Photonics senior vice president.
According to Eigen, certain key Solus personnel were also hired by NP Photonics. The deal was structured by creating Parvenu Inc. as a Delaware Corporation. Parvenu then bought the Solus assets and was in turn acquired by NP Photonics. The company intends to gain performance and cost benefits by integrating tunable optical components and subsystems.
