SV Probe plans Sacramento factory for test devices

July 11, 2002 – San Jose, CA – SV Prove Inc., a provider of semiconductor test devices, plans to open a factory in Sacramento within the next three months and hire up to 80 people.

SV Probe intends to employ a team of R&D engineers at the Sacramento facility — a 15,000 ft.2 site in North Natomas, according to the Knight Ridder Tribune.

“It’s not a traditional manufacturing setup because most of the (production) is done (literally) under a microscope,” said Bob Burris, deputy director at the Sacramento Area Commerce and Trade Organization, which helped bring SV Probe to the area.

SV Probe was founded in 1994 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore-based Zen Voce. The privately held company has 150 customers worldwide, including IBM, Motorola, Hewlett-Packard, and Intel Level One Communications.
