Texas researcher receives Zyvex grant

July 9, 2002 — Jeong-Bong Lee, assistant professor of electrical engineering in the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Texas at Dallas, has been awarded a $350,000 grant from Richardson, Texas-based Zyvex Corp. to conduct research in the assembly of micro and nanoscale devices.

The five-year grant is part of a $25 million research award Zyvex received from the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Advanced Technology Program. Lee’s research focuses on developing electrical connections for micro and nanoscale machine parts for applications in biomedicine, electronics and optics.
