Cool Chips issued patent

Aug. 1, 2002 — Cool Chips plc, a Gibraltar developer of solid-state cooling systems, announced that the US Patent Office issued it patent 6,417,060 titled “Method for Making a Diode Device,” according to a news release.

Cool Chips are wafer-thin disks that produce cooling. The company says that Cool Chips will be more efficient, yet smaller and lighter, than conventional cooling systems. The patent covers a method for manufacturing the devices.
