AUG. 1–BEDFORD, MA–Life sciences technology giant Millipore Corp. announced today that it has acquired the assets of CPG Inc. (Lincoln Park, NJ), a supplier to Millipore for several years, providing base materials for its Prosep, a high capacity chromatographic media.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the acquisition includes the intellectual property and physical assets of CPG.

“The acquisition of CPG is strategic in terms of manufacturing,” says Susan Vogt, president of Millipore’s Biopharmaceutical Division. “It ensures a secure supply of a key component of our best-selling chromatographic media. It also gives us technology and know-how to continue to build on our Prosep media platform and expand the range of purification solutions.”
