Nanomat spins off Nanova, hires CEO

Aug. 1, 2002 — Nanomat Inc., a North Huntingdon, Pa., developer of nanomaterials, has spun off Nanova LLC to conduct large-scale manufacturing of the NanoTalc and NanoCalc products developed in Nanomat’s laboratories, according to a news release. The company has hired Medardo Monzon as Nanova chief executive.

Monzon was previously general manager of International Paper’s specialty packaging business in Kaukauna, Wis. Nanova will initially hire 20 staff members, primarily chemists, process engineers and line operators. It will be headquartered at Nanomat’s 35,000-square-foot production facility.
