MEMGen appoints RF MEMS expert to board

Sept. 25, 2002 — MEMGen Corp. said it has named Elliott Brown to its advisory board to boost the firm’s expertise in radio-frequency (RF) MEMS technology.

Brown, a professor of electrical engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles, has more than 25 years of experience in RF research and development. Before joining UCLA, he served as a program manager at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.

In a MEMGen news release, Brown said the company’s EFAB technology could open the door to a new class of RF components, such as filters and couplers. He added that the manufacturing process also could enable RF engineers to design complex, three-dimensional structures not possible by current methods.
