MEMGen names new president, CEO

Sept. 10, 2002 — MEMGen Corp. said it has named Vacit Arat president and chief executive officer.

Arat joins MEMGen from Silicon Value Inc., where he served as CEO of the application-specific integrated circuit maker. He also has held sales and marketing positions at Samsung Semiconductor, LSI Logic, Honeywell and IBM, according to a news release.

He replaces Adam Cohen, MEMGen’s founder and inventor of its core technology. Cohen will continue to serve as the firm’s chairman and take on the new role of executive vice president of engineering, the release said.
