Micralyne links with MicroCHIPS

Sept. 3, 2002 — Micralyne Inc. and MicroCHIPS Inc. said they have formed a partnership to make MicroCHIPS’ drug-releasing, implantable MEMS chips.

Micralyne, an Alberta-based developer and manufacturer of MEMS components, will work with Massachusetts-based MicroCHIPS as it develops its device and moves toward clinical trials. Micralyne’s foundry service will provide low volume production and ramp up to higher volumes as development progresses, the companies said in a news release.

Micralyne said it has manufacturing and development deals with Applied Biosystems, JDS Uniphase and other instrument companies.
