SEPT. 26–SPARTANBURG, S.C.– Milliken & Co., a worldwide supplier of textiles and chemicals, is building an ISO Class 2 Research and Technology Center for final processing of cleanroom and automotive wipers as well as for the development of new products for the semiconductor, life sciences, electronic, food, automotive and other industries.
The facility will include research and development capabilities, including analytical equipment. The center will be located in Union, S.C., close to Milliken Research Corporation.
The facility will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2002, and company officials expect products to be certified with customers by the first of next year.
“The opening of this facility will allow Milliken to further facilitate development of innovative products for the cleanroom consumables market,” says Chris Roman, Milliken’s business manager. “After completion of the technology center, we fully expect Milliken’s customers to realize ever increasing benefits in improved wiper performance characteristics, arising from this technology.”
