Sept. 20, 2002 — Sarcon Microsystems Inc. said it will use Sarnoff Corp.’s Princeton, N.J., facility to make MEMS-based infrared (IR) sensor arrays.
The contract calls for Sarnoff to complete development and ramp up production of the uncooled IR chips, which are designed for thermal imaging cameras and temperature sensors. Sarcon said it plans to deliver complete IR detector engines for customer evaluation by the end of the first quarter of 2003 and expects to commercially produce them during the fourth quarter.
Sarcon’s investors include Ardesta LLC, parent company of Small Times Media.
