Teravicta aims to turn up volume of its RF MEMS

Sept. 10, 2002 — Teravicta Technologies said it’s seeking to ramp up production of its radio-frequency (RF) MEMS switches through a partnership with a California-based supplier of magnetic recording heads.

Texas-based Teravicta, which announced in July it was sending out samples of its RF MEMS switch, said it intends to move into high-volume production by using Read-Rite Corp.’s manufacturing capabilities. Teravicta hopes to have its technology transferred to Read-Rite by next year, according to a company news release.

Teravicta develops next-generation RF MEMS components and subsystems for markets such as mobile phones, wireless local area networks, broadband fixed wireless and military communications.
