Viztec completes new clean room

Sept. 13, 2002 — Viztec Inc. said it has completed a 2,500-square-foot clean room to boost commercialization of its nanocomposite-based liquid crystal displays.

The Cleveland-based firm said the expanded facility will allow it to rapidly respond to customers’ requests for prototype and preproduction quantities of displays using its Plastic Pixels process, which yields a nanocomposite material of liquid crystal and polymer designed to be more durable, flexible, thinner and lighter than current products.

Potential applications include mobile electronic devices for consumer and military use.
