SEPT. 9–CLEVELAND, OH–Viztec Inc. has completed a 2,500-square-foot cleanroom facility that will help accelerate the commercialization of unbreakable liquid crystal displays (LCDs) using its Plastic Pixel nanotechnology.

The expanded capability allows Viztec to respond faster to customer requests for prototype and pre-production quantities and will advance the development of the technology.

“Interest in our product is already very high, so we anticipate considerable demand for use of the cleanroom,” says Paul Fischer, chief executive officer.

He maintains that Plastic Pixel displays have the potential to become the new “standard in a variety of products, from mobile communications and wearable devices to toys and military electronics – anywhere there is a desire to produce devices that are thinner, lighter and more durable.”
