Oct. 15, 2002 — Applied Nanotech Inc. said it is selling samples of a new carbon nanotube composite offering better performance and lower cost.
By combining the composites with other nanoparticles, the scientists were able to lower the voltage necessary for optical electron emission. The decrease, coupled with the fact that the mixture requires fewer nanotubes, should lower costs and boost the use of such technology in home television applications, according to news release.
An ANI official said the new composites should speed production for manufacturers and increase licensing deals.
