JMAR names new chief executive

Oct. 15, 2002 — JMAR Technologies Inc., a San Diego developer and supplier of process technologies for the semiconductor and microsystems industries, has named Ronald Walrod its president and chief executive officer.

Walrod, also elected to the company’s board of directors, replaces interim CEO Joseph Martinez, who took the position following the August retirement of JMAR co-founder John Martinez. Joseph Martinez will resume his previous post as corporate senior vice president and general counsel, and retain his seat on the board.

Walrod previously served as president and CEO of Kinetic Probe, a developer of semiconductor probe cards. Before that he held the same positions at Nautronix, a supplier of automation systems for marine applications, and Applied Remote Technology Inc., a developer of undersea vehicle systems, sensors and acoustic communications.
