Motorola, Cetek link on nanotubes for displays

Oct. 10, 2002 — Cetek Technologies Inc. said it has secured a license with Motorola Inc. to make and use Motorola’s Carbon Nanotube Triode (CNT) technology for flat-panel display production.

Cetek said CNT technology requires a ceramic substrate, which Cetek has developed. The combination of the technologies and processes has produced a high quality and inexpensive flat-panel display, according to a company news release.

Prototypes have been produced for the display, which has applications in mobile phones, computer monitors, televisions and other electronic devices.
