NuGen teams with institute on detectors

Oct. 16, 2002 — NuGen Technologies Inc. said it is working with the Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS) to integrate NuGen’s technology into microarray-based detection systems.

Such systems will be based on NuGen’s method for amplifying and detecting DNA and RNA. The method, called Single Primer Isothermal Amplification Technology, offers rapid, accurate results without the need for complex instrumentation, according to the company.

NuGen said in a written statement that GIS is known for adapting and integrating advanced technologies to glean biological information.
