Swagelok acquires biopharmaceutical valve maker

OCT. 1–SOLON, OH–Swagelok Co., a developer of fluid system component technologies, has acquired the assets of Garitech Systems Inc., a Houston, TX-based manufacturer of stainless steel weir-style diaphragm valves for the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries.

“Adding these weir-style valves to our product portfolio complements our other high-purity valve lines and answers a need expressed by our distributors and their customers,” says Art Anton, president and chief executive.

Swagelok will integrate the Garitech product line into its Jensen biopharmaceutical operations headquartered near Buffalo, NY. The products include standard isolation valves as well as such specialty products as point-of-use, sterile access and tee pattern valves.
